Happy birthday, honey! <3
Since my boyfriend is just a little bit of a fitness freak and even more of a protein freak, there was no other way for me but to make him a protein cake for his birthday. I have never made anything like this before but I decided to give it a try. Anything for love, right? So I found this recipe that I really liked (one of the big pros for it being the low calorie amount per piece) and just went for it. The cake turned out really delicious. Of course it did not taste like the “real” Black Forrest cake (how could it, when it contains almost no ingredients from the original recipe?) but it was super delicious and my boyfriend loved it (which is most important). So all in all, the cake was a success, and that is why I am sharing it with you.
Ingredients:
Cake:
1 cup drained and cooked Black Beans
1/4 cup of dark Agave Syrup
1 cup Egg Whites (from about 5 eggs)
1/2 cup Chocolate Casein
1/2 cup Almond Milk
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
2 tbsp Stevia (I used the one with 1:1 ratio to sugar)
1 cup Oats
Topping:
340g 0% fat Greek Yogurt (340g)
225g Philadelphia light Cream Cheese
1/2 cup of Vanilla Casein
Shaved dark chocolate (optional)
Low calorie Cherry jam (optional)
Cherry compote (optional)
